Information we collect

Depending on how you use Popbob, we collect:

• Account information, including your username, password hash, email address, avatar, and connected Discord or Telegram account details.
• Shop, listing, order, delivery, balance, withdrawal, and transaction information.
• Messages, support requests, disputes, reviews, images, and other content you submit.
• IP address, browser and device information, login sessions, security events, and information used to detect fraud or abuse.
• Usage and advertising information collected through Google Analytics and Google Ads technologies.

Signup asks for your date of birth solely to confirm that you are at least 13 years old. Popbob does not store the date after completing this check.

How we use information

We use personal data to:

• Provide accounts, shops, marketplace listings, and orders.
• Process payments, balances, withdrawals, and refunds.
• Deliver notifications and customer support.
• Prevent fraud, secure accounts, and enforce platform rules.
• Measure, maintain, and improve Popbob and its advertising.
• Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

We rely on performance of our contract, legal obligations, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the platform, and consent where consent is required.

Payments

Stripe processes card, wallet, and supported local payment methods. NOWPayments processes cryptocurrency payments. These providers receive transaction, device, contact, and fraud-prevention information as required to process a payment. Popbob does not receive your full card number. The providers also process information under their own Stripe Privacy Policy and NOWPayments Privacy Policy.

When information is shared

We share information where necessary with:

• Buyers and sellers involved in an order, including the contact and delivery information needed to complete it.
• Payment, email, analytics, advertising, authentication, notification, infrastructure, and security providers.
• Authorities or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect users, Popbob, or the public.

These providers include Stripe, NOWPayments, Google, Brevo, Discord, Telegram, Cloudflare, and Linode. We do not sell personal data for money.

International processing

Popbob is hosted using Linode infrastructure and mirrors its database across the United States and Europe. Our service providers may also process information in other countries. Where required, international transfers are made using an applicable legal transfer mechanism.

Retention

We retain your account information and associated marketplace records for as long as your account remains open. This keeps your username, shops, listings, order history, messages, and other account features available when you return.

To request account deletion, email [email protected]. We will verify that you control the account before deleting or de-identifying personal data that is no longer needed. We may retain transaction, order, withdrawal, dispute, security, and fraud-prevention records where they remain necessary for accounting, legal obligations, resolving claims, enforcing our agreements, or preventing abuse. Signup dates of birth are not retained after the age check. Payment providers retain information according to their own policies.

Cookies and similar technologies

Popbob uses essential technologies for authentication, security, forms, and shopping carts. We also use Google Analytics and Google Ads technologies to understand usage and measure advertising. Browser settings can be used to delete or block stored data, although blocking essential technologies may prevent parts of Popbob from working.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Send requests to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children

Popbob is not available to children under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will close the account and delete the child's personal information as required by law.

Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
