The Discord integration creates product channels in your server and lets customers build a cart with Discord buttons. Checkout opens on your Popbob-hosted shop site, where the customer completes payment.
What the integration does
Synced product messages let a customer choose a quantity, add or remove products, view their cart, and open checkout. Stock is checked when a product is added, and current product data is loaded again when the Discord cart reaches checkout.
Shop-site promocodes also work for carts started in Discord when the code has Shop site enabled.
Before setup
You need permission to create an application and add a bot to the Discord server. You should also decide how product channels will be organized:
Marketplace Categories
Uses the public category structure attached to your marketplace listings. This is the default.
My Shop Categories
Uses the private categories configured under My Website. Set those categories up and assign products to them before running the Discord sync.
Connect your Discord app
- 1
Choose the category structure
Open Discord in the Superpanel, select Get Started, and choose Marketplace Categories or My Shop Categories.
- 2
Create a Discord application
In the Discord Developer Portal, create a New Application. From General Information, copy its Application ID and Public Key into the Popbob setup. The public key must be the complete 64-character hexadecimal value.
- 3
Configure interactions
Copy the Interactions Endpoint URL shown by Popbob into the matching field in Discord and save the Discord application. Return to Popbob and select Validate Setup. Continue only after the endpoint is marked validated.
- 4
Add the bot
Open the Bot page in Discord, reset the bot token, and paste the new token into Popbob. Treat this token like a password and do not post it in messages or screenshots. Continue and authorize the bot for the correct Discord server.
Sync your products
After inviting the bot, select Sync & Finish. Popbob sends the current product and category structure to the server and shows a log while channels and messages are created.
Run the first sync only after your categories and products are ready. Popbob will not start a second initial sync while items still contain references to an existing Discord setup.
Edit or remove the integration
Use Edit to change the category source, application credentials, bot token, or customer role. Resetting a bot token in Discord invalidates the old token, so save the replacement in Popbob before expecting the bot to work again.
Changing the category source does not rebuild channels created by the initial sync. To create a fresh server structure, remove the integration and complete setup again with the new category source.
Remove Integration clears the shop's Discord configuration and removes its stored Discord message references from every item. This cannot be undone. Removing the integration does not delete your Discord application, so manage or delete that separately in the Discord Developer Portal.
